It’s hard not to love adorable blog Coco Cake Land. Its author is Vancouver-based mother and self-taught baker Lyndsay Sung, who also takes all of its photographs.
If you live in Vancouver, you can special-order Sung’s cakes. Lucky. If you don’t, you can follow her recipes, which produce smile-inducing results like this one.
Which brings us to the #cakeoftheday. For this kitty cake, Sung bakes five rainbow-colored layers of dough and and ices the “fur” with white buttercream. As for the fondant eyes and ears, you’ll need some piping tips and cutters (and skills!). Check out Sung’s recipe for a step by step tutorial.
